hey man,

sorry to be saturating the clinic lately, but I'm really trying to get this mix as good as I can because it's my favorite tune of mine..

I took all your complaints, theron, mixmkr, participant and everyone else who complained about it, and tried to improve it..

Can I get a couple of quick thoughts on the mix? I just need one or two people to say, "the mix is good enough, now stay out of the clinic for awhile.." :D

thanks as always dooods, I will be trying to make up for it by listening to a lot of others tunes.. :)

'riches to rags' :(

yeah man!!

the mix is good enough, now stay out of the clinic for awile!!:p

did you re sing the harmonie's?? they sound much better on this mix, or are they just up?? and you changed that thing at 1:13ish
with some coughing!! i liked it!! i can hear the snare better (i still can't believe that's e drum's) i like that snare sound!!

this is good , i like the things you have added!!!!!!
i already liked the tune. im gonna go listen for more change's now.

thank's man!!

peace

rick

God you get the best guitar sound I've heard! I suppose I'll have to set up an axe with .013's tuned down to C. I liked it the first time I heard it (I still hear "No More Tears" when I listen to this, not the tune, just the mood). It does seem the snare is higher in the mix in a good way. The drips are a nice touch.:D

Where is the song?

Hey Sam,

I tried to listen, but the song is gone ...

cool!

thanks guys, I remixed this song a billion times..

fenderlikingood - thanks man! I didn't resing it, I just e.q.'d and compressed the vocals to death, and bought up the drums and solos.. It's good to hear I can leave this alone now.. :) thanks for being the first ears! I was worried I made it sound worse, like I did before.

Track Rat - thanks for sitting through that again. :) This one was tuned to B.. I only had 10's on when i did this so I had to play very lightly.. 'no more tears' is such a crackin song.. Zakk gets some great guitar sound..

boydrj - it was there but I had it named as Track 13.. I renamed it now.. thanks!

This sounds great, now get off my lawn and back to the clinic!
Seriously...I don't keep many of the tunes I listen to because of limited hd space...I'm keeping this one.
Vocals are right where they belong, music is compelling, the song itself is compelling, sung and played with so much confidence and commitment, excellent writing.
I dig the hell out of this song.

Mark

i didn't hear the original mixes, but this mix sounds great.......i particularly like all the different vocal sounds...........if i were you, i'd be done with this one and on to the next song........good job

 On the first phrase, on the word "today" that click is still there... maybe it's just in your vocal track? :(

Coughing, and kids are louder. Cool.

I guess those were just guitars in the outro -- the stuff I thought sounded like a talkbox   Must've been really late, or someone slipped me a mickey :p Or, your playing and articulation are just that good -- making the guitar-talking sound without a talkbox. :)

Better than remix 3... Not sure what else you could do to it. The synths noticably duck under the vox in the first verse... but there's probably thousands of commercial CD songs mixed that way.

Still my fave of yours :) (still have to hear "unwell" tho)

Chad

is this even a newer mix..? I think I said something about it in the other thread....like my ears were fried...couldn't hear any highs... Is this a mix like in the last day or less?? I guess I could go listen again, but I thought I needed to drag your ass back into the clinic to answer my question..................zzzzzz

my first 5 star rating

mkg - totally cool to hear! thanks man!

powderfinger - I'm already onto the next one.. thanks for the ears!

participant - WOW!! I can't believe you noticed that.. I didn't even hear it until you mentioned it.. I don't think I would have noticed it either... impressive Jedi Knight.. thanks man.. I sent you a p.m. before I even posted this..

mixmkr - yeah I did this mix today.. 9:00 a.m. Sunday.. I also sent you a p.m. before I posted this but I guess you didn't get it..

Sam;

This was my first listen and I think the mix is fine. Everything fits. The breaks and interludes are good. Awsome geetar and synth sounds. The tune is fine as far as sound goes but man, what a depressing song. ;)

Blessings;

CR

Just awesome! some of the best stuff i've heard in here! UDAMAN!

Sam... I can't compare to previous mixes, because I believe this is the first vocal tune I've heard from you... I like the tune, moody and powerful... It still retains that 'soundtrack' flavor with all the cool breaks and change-ups... There is nothing that struggles in the mix, to my ears; a high quality mix, no doubt. Everything sounds great... Stellar job!:D

Sounds perfect!
The mix is Huge, and everything is crystal clear!
I would say it's radio ready,definatly!:D

I like the song itself too,the lyrics are pretty cool.

Another hit, when are you going to start selling cd's? ;)

Best to you,
Pete

ahh...lemme listen... I never read my PM, it seems. You erased it ...eh? hhhm ..Now I HAVE TO listen.. back in a bit..

Another song for my iTunes folder.

:D

The only thing I thought about the mix was it seemed the snare/kick could use a little in the 5-7K zone, but then I like punchy, in-your-face drum sounds.;) I really like that low-low bass in there! Sounds killer on my old Altecs.

Good job, dude!:)

Hey Sam,
Very nice............. indeed! I love the clean vocs. They sound so much better. The compression sounds good.......and the eq on the lead v. is very nicely done. The contrast that is there now (between the first lead v. and the " incurable illness, ect." lead v. sounds great). I dig where you have taken this. Nice work man................... stick a fork in it........ITS DONE:D

G (5 stars here bro-ham)

so...what is the secret behind the drip..?
ahh...the high end is back. Do I hear amp hum during the drip?...albeit..waaaaaay back there?
Sam...the harmony man... hey..that rhymes!!
Throw your guitars away...they sound sucky!!! (whoa..that took balls to say that!!)
As a nitpick...I'd choose another snare sound..more fuller...like a deeper, marching snare. got one??
pan the coughing off to the side more?? shoot..I'm searching.

nice laughing...
some heavy chordage..
Except for maybe the repeativness of it (not sure, cause I've listened to it a lot), the mix and song are there. There was a nice little, "ka-chunka" just before the guitar like at 3:50 that I really liked. Sounded like a full stack having the cobwebs being dusted out with a palm mute warm up... neat stuff. No amp hum on the outro drips....maybe its on my end. I'm starting to get hums, crackleds, ground loops all over the place around here it seems. Time for a rewire. I'd put your music on to do it, but I solder it into one big glob, if I did:eek: Maybe when you do a Hansen cover....dbl:eek:

I hope I'm not too late here. The first vocal harmony thing at the beginning sounded kinda lazy. Not tight enough. The words got a bit messed. Try to sing each of them exactly on time. Or maybe that was what you wanted... I don't know. The mix is great otherwise.

This sounds really good on my machine. I think I can understand the vocals a little better on this mix than on the previous or it may just be my imagination, but it sounds cleaner. Really good vocals and background vocals.

I like the arrangement you have on this. I know this is your favorite, but I am still partial to your Lt. Bob Experiment ... lol ...

This song defiinitely rocks and I like the lyrics to it. No mix advice...this sounds great, even in lo-fi.

Great job!
