we don't need rest!!
I'd post this in the Sonic Foundry forum...but it's now Sony!! ...but seriously, thought it would get quite a bit more attention over here.

Anyway... wadda you all think of the Sony plugins that come with CD architect 5.0. ...especially their multiband compression plugin?

Besides the generic looking appearance of the controls, the typical stuff like the delay effects seem the normal run of the mill to me. Not "jump up and down" great, but very nice. The compression, EQ, and multiband I haven't used enough to really make an assesement at this point.

so.....?

It isn't as exciting as the Waves LinMB.

I think it is a bit more "clunky" than the Sonitus Multiband.

Overall though, it is quite usable on "tracks". I could see it working great on a kick or snare. Maybe back ground vocals.

Mind you, I have only used the Sony Multiband in Vegas 4. A newer version might exist. pipelineaudio is the Sony guy to talk to! He has their ear somewhat and is a big ol' Vegas fan.

I've been using the Wave Hammer for my current client's rough mixes just so he can have the tracks loud. Won't use it on the final mixes that'll go to the mastering house, though.
