Sony ECM-MS957

I am having an issue with a laptop/pc picking up sound from this microphone (Sony ECM-MS957). I know there isn't anything wrong with the mic because when I use it with my minidisc it picksup great. Can someone give me any suggestions. Do I need an adapter? I would like to use cooledit software to record with.

That is a battery powered mic. Have you checked the battery? Although if that were the case I dont really know why the minidisc would be working so well..

I've heard these styles of Sony mics do not work on computers. Maybe I heard wrong but I think I've tried it with my ECM-907 and it didn't do anything for me.

the MD provides "plug in power" ...the laptop probably doesnt..s
