Sony CRX160E Install/Software Help

I'm running Win 98se; 184MB RAM; 133Mz Processor; 2 HD on 1st IDE; Sony CRX160# Burner as Master & CD-ROM as Slave on other IDE.

Windows "My Computer" recocgnizes Burner as "E" & CD-ROM as "F".

Systems Properties recognizes both my name & ID'd as above.

Other Info: (from System Properties)
Target ID: 0

Firmware Rev: 1.0e

Logical Unit #: 0

Disconnect: "Checked"

Sync Data Transfer: "Unchecked"

Auto Insertion: [?? yes or no ??]

DMA [?? yes or no ??]

Current Drive Letter: E

Reserved Letters: Start - "E" * Ending Letter: "E"


Any expert techincal advice to configure correctly so that I do not continue receiving error messages such as: "Not accessible" or "no disk/media" in drive when trying to verify if it works.

Have tried various Burning Software: the disk that came with the Sony Burner; Roxio; Nero; Adaptec.

Retrospect was bundled w/ the Sony software & it installed:

ASPI.

Neither the Auto Insertion or DMA options should affect whether a CD burner works or not.

Can you try your CD burner on another machine to make sure it works? Also, check to make sure the specs states it's Win98 compatible.
