First off. This is a PUSH MIX, so don't expect a work of art here. As I usually do with clients, I mix a stereo drum track mix to a new ADAT tape, then transfer a scratch bass track and scratch guitar track to this tape also then use it to do the overdubs. It is nice because then I only need to use one tape for overdubbing and just transfer the new tracks to the master tapes when we get a take. Everything stays time aligned perfectly. So, the drums are just a quicky stereo mix I did long ago.

Anyway, this is a band that I started to produce but ended up dropping that title when it became appearent that they didn't want to listen to some good advice. Oh well. I am still producing in a very limited capacity, but ultimately, they are making the decisions on this stuff. Oh well.

Anyway. I actually got co-songwriting credit on this tune as I wrote the Bass intro for it and also sort of arranged the song.

When the bass player came in to record the bass tracks for everything, he didn't feel that he could perform the bass tracks with the same conviction as I did so he asked me to record this one for him. Boy fun. So, here is sonusman playing bass... :D

I don't know if I am missing something, but this songs kicks.

It was great..I love messing around with the eq in winamp and cranking up the bass...and the song itself was pretty damn good too...gibs

Very nice Ed,

Nice to see they could drag you away from the old Wolensak to play a tune. You're getting closer and closer to getting the great big red "S" and cape!!

Great bass playing, did you use a pick? Direct in?

LOL - well, if he didn't use a pick, then he hadn't trimmed his fingernails in a while.

Yes, I think we've finally found a bass player for S8-N, and if he only had a computer, he could revel in his good fortune.

Ed, can you also:

a) do country? (Keep in mind that this involves liking it as well.)

b) lilt?

LOL....it has been a long time since anyone has asked that!

sonus is latin for "sound".

Ed

Sounds great.

My monitors are shitty sony speakers though.

Very clean. Not muddy or noisey like a lot of metal recordings I have heard.

Sonusman's dad is called Presonus, I think.

And when Ed finally gets around to reproducing officially, the offshoot's gonna be called Sonuson. :)
