Djembes Rock
A few weeks ago I tried the Voxengo Soniformer demo and had trouble understanding it... so it was uninstalled. After reading so many rave reviews it seems that maybe I was a bit hasty in dismissing it.
I was trying to look at it as another form of multiband compressor with individual attack, ratio, release and threshold per band. But maybe this isn't so? Do you just set up one setting of attack, ratio and release - and then individual control points (bands?) have their own threshold? If this is the case it makes more sense. Maybe it's time to try the demo again.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

After reinstalling the Soniformer demo I can see that all of the parameters can be set individually for each control point chosen. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the GUI but it looks interesting - kind of like a super-duper multiband compressor.

I like Soniformer a lot. I find it especially useful for taming bass that gets out of hand. Like most ITB compression, it works best when it is very subtle.

Thanks, Leddy. A lot of people seem to share your opinion.
