It's interesting to note, no pun intended, that many of the well known and succesful songwriter's use the same chord progressions or start with the same chord for all of their biggest hits. Try a Capo if you want a little more flexibility.
 
yeah, the capa does help, thanx eh, i notice it changes the acoustic sound a lot,,,with the higher register, it makes me wanna jam with a harpsichord lol,,,thanz for the suggestion! peace
 
I always thought capos were for people who couldnt play bar
chords?
 
Yeah, you know I never looked right in spandex. Bar chords...
 
A lot of guitarists didn't use capo's as of the way they look, that was of course until people saw keith richards with one.
 
I love the way that open-voiced chord shapes sound,so using a capo preserves these voicings.Of course,barre chords are a necessity,but heck,we all love open chords.Think about the intro to "Here Comes The Sun" by George Harrison.....
a "D" chord capoed at the 7th fret! I use a capo also to lay a higher voicing of an open chord over the original;like "D" at the 5th over an open "G".
