Heya,

My band and I just finished a two week long recording+mixing marathon (10 songs!? I do NOT recommend doing this!!!!), and would like to get some feedback from the fine folks in this forum. We will gladly seek you out and do the same. Specifically, it would be great if we could get feedback on a song called "Magic Potion", a somewhat dark and moody rawkish (shutter to use this word....) ballad. We literally recorded this on an all night seance yesterday (Feb 21), and are curious as to what people....might....think... We're kind of fond of this baby. But feel free to listen to 'em all, and let us know. Our band is called The Daily Afflictions, and we are spastically all over the place stylistally. I know...everyone says that... Anyhoot, we have a modest home studio headed up w/ Sonar 6.2, and we record everything live (real instruments/percussion/etc...) in an apartment with nightmarish acoustics. Recipe for ridicule... EQing commences... Cheerios and thanks!

You can find our tunes at either of these places:

Nice intro - very nice sound and playing on the acoustic. Like the way it pans l/r as it plays.
Voice sits nicely on top of the mix - good tone to the voice too - I like it...
Drums are a little thin in the mix , especially the snare and might come up in volume a bit. The balance on the drums seems good though i.e between snare/toms/cymbals.
Bass was there... but I would have liked more definition.....
The song is very good and the playing is great. Minor mixing things really.... I think you turned out a really nice piece here....

:D :) :D :)

Thank you for the listen. Really appreciate it. We have another song up, which for whatever reason people seem to really like, called "Beaches of Brasil" (guess it's less weird sounding...). It's a pretty simple tune arrangement wise (2 acoustic guitars, vocals, and drums), but feedback would be appreciated. Though it wasn't recorded live, we've tried to go for a "live" sound, by letting some room tones/guitar finger squeaking/etc... in that we probably normally shouldn't. Thanks again for any listens.
