freedom of choice may be a mistake so i'll pinpoint a piece i'm not ashamed of to gently lure you in before the suck takes hold...please share thoughts, viciously if necessary...I'm aiming for "radio" worthy...at least from a production standpoint.
recorded in cwpa9, drums are sequenced in flstudio5, guitars, bass, vox and mix is moi. my speakers suck. no idea myself, how the lowend sounds. hail satan.

Sounds good. The guitars sound nice both clean and distorted. The bass does seem a little buried-I would like to hear that cool meandering bass line during the verse sections better. Drums sound good and the part is programmed well. I don't like the snare sound, makes it sound like a drum prog-like the sound is too slick for the piece at hand. Maybe it's just a bit loud? I don't care for that particular verb on it either, but this is just personal preference stuff. I like the echoey vocal, but it gets too repetetive, I would have left it off for the verse and on for the chorus?

As far as radio worthy-sound? sure I guess, length? NO WAY

This is a 10 minute epic! This might be a bathroom break song at a college station, but damn 10 minutes is loooong. The start goes on too long before anything interesting happens IMO. The end could also be cut down-there's like almost 1:30 of solo noise guitar there.

Well those are my opinions, enjoyed the listen(s)

Strat

Thank u strat, hah, u would like the guitar tones... its a fender strat lol. That was definitely a helpful look at it though, i was torn with my snare level i remember, and for some reason i couldn't find the right balance... it was too high or too low... i then remembered reading that in mastering a decent use of compression could bring down overly loud snares... as for the verb... again, just experimenting... any ideas what a good standard is for a snare like that? i think i used plate...

i was having a long conversation before mixing that song down about predelay... a friend of mine who is a pretty decent mixer, (mostly when it comes to eqing though) has insisted that a pre delay between 40-59 was a good way to go...

blah. Thanks a lot for your insight, gonna tweak some tonight.

Yep. 10 minutes is way too long for the radio.

Sounds a lot like Jane's Addiction.

No comments on the mix; it sounds pretty good.
