Open exactly what? Where should I be in order to open "it". (I really am NOT a novice, although it seems like I am in this matter...sorry)

Open it, and click on the plus sign (+).

The best/safest way (IMHO) would be to use the Sonar-tool found on this page. You can't go much wrong with it... :)

I mean open the Cakewalk Tools Editor that you downloaded from the link that James directed you to earlier in this thread. You have to open the uCakewalk Tools Editor utility before you can add programs to it. The file you downloaded has an application in it. Double-click the thing and open the tools menu editor. I've never seen the thing moskus is showing. Need to read up on that one. Keep trying.

I would say using the program I linked to in the above post, is easier to work with than James tool (not that I don't like you, James ;)). I've tried both methods, you see...

well....what happened? Did you get it to work? Is it in your tools menu now? Which app did you use to get it in there? C'mon, man!!! Don't leave us hangin' like this!! Details!!! I have to go to work now, but I'm checkin this thing as soon as I get home! Details!!!!!!!!

Relæx, Ed...

It's a good sign that we haven't heard from him yet! ;)

What is the advantage of using both Sonar and Cool Edit Pro?

The advantage of SONAR ? We all know those... Cool edit pro (you can also use other decent dedicated audio editors like Sound Forge or Goldwaves) will help you edit the audio more simple, easier, faster, more complete, yet powerfull... ;)

LEE <~~~Getting a dose of Valium for Ed. :)

Alas, I was unable...or just plain unwilling....to give it a true college try to get the editor in the tools menu. :( For now, I am going to use CEP 1.0 for multitracking AND editing and see how it works for my needs. I do very much appreciate the help and advice you guys have given me, and this help will NOT go unnoticed. That cruise to nowhere in the Gulf of Mexico with the Penthouse Pets of the past? YOU ARE ALL INVITED! HUAHHH!

Thanks again, Lee Tyler.

I'm sorry to hear you couldn't get it going. It's a nice feature, to open another program from within Sonar. I use that little app all the time with no problems. Hang on to it and maybe you'll get the itch to try it again. Cool Edit Pro is cool, but I think you owe yourself an upgrade. 1.2a is really stable, and 2.0 adds looping features and the ability to play MIDI files. Still can't edit MIDI in there, so if you use that stuff, you're still gonna need a sequencer of some kind. Anyway, I don't really like the effects of valium, so I'm just gonna try to take a few deep breaths!!! C-ya

Well, I don't "do" loops, but I do sequence arrangements on my Kurzweil K2600X workstation. And I don't use or intend to use MIDI, outside of the midi functions in my Kurz. Uh....don't hyperventilate.....it's a trip, man!
