Sonar vs. HomeStudio

This is going to sound like a stupidly simple question, but here it is:

I am looking to record multiple tracks including guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals on my computer. I'm an experienced musican and my work is computer based, but this is my first crack at computer recording. Basically, I'm interesting in some user reviews on Home Studio and Sonar, since these are the two I'm comparing. Does Home Studio really produce a high quality pseudo professional sound, or am I better off to shell out the extra money for Sonar if I'm really into my music?

Sound quality wise they are the same. Home Studio 2002 does not support multi input soundcards though. You can only record one track at a time (or 2 mono channels on a regualr stereo card) - simultaneous muititrack recording is only possible with Sonar.
 
I agree with the others.
Sonar. There is so much more you can do with it.

I would go with SONAR. I downloaded the demo version to test my system and it is perform super. I was using Acid Pro 3c and Vegas and sometimes when I recorded I was getting harsh sounds. I thought it was the sound card (Delta 66) but Cakewalk product has narrowed it down to the software. Sonar has performed superb, I recorded 29 tracks (10 of them at once) at it performed excellent with no drop outs. I did experience drop outs when I used 10 Sonic foundry Reverbs and 2 Izotope plug-ins but after I dropped the count Sonar worked great.
I did experienced dropout when I imported external wav files (4 tracks of Acid loops exported as wave---I know Sonar does what Acid does but I already had that composition arranged) but the tech support at Cakewalk was helpful.

I knew I should of stayed with Cakewalk products, I started with Home Studio 7. Cakewalk, the best recording software for the PC; compatible with any processor or board.
 
Home Studio is fine. Some of the limitations will be your sound card and your mike set up.
