Sonar Midi Question?

I was wondering why don't sonar pick up all the preset sounds I have in my keyboard they keyboard has like 500 preset sounds its seems to pick up like may 150 does sonar automaticly picks up all the sounds? Or maybe I have to go change the settings? Can some of you help me out?

What keyboard are you using?

You need to load the appropriate INS (Instrument Definition) file in order to have access by name to all the sounds on your keyboard in Sonar.

I'm guessing the first 150 or so match up just because they are the GM (General Midi) sounds. GM is a standard set of sounds that most of today's keyboards have so that when you play a MIDI file created with the GM standard, it will sound the same no matter which keybpoard you use.

I have a roland rs 9 I checked the sounds and its missing about half of the sounds.

Like I said, you need the INS file for your RS-9. You can download them from this site:

There will be only 128 sounds per bank. You have to select another bank to see the next group of sounds.
