Hello,
I am going nuts trying to figure out how to route everything. I have a midi keyboard midi out going to my SB live midi in. I want to record notes into sonar, but I would also like to have midi into my softsynth outside of sonar to monitor the sounds. (sonar crashes when trying to use FM7 inside sonar like livesynth). When I open up the FM7 synth, it says the sb live midi in is in use by sonar. The only way I can do it now is to use the livesynth with soundfonts to record midi notes, then turn off SB live midi in inside sonar. I then use SB's midi out and route to midi in via 5-pin cable. I then use SB's midi in port on the FM7 synth. It also has a midi through. The recorded midi notes in Sonar now play back through the soft synth. There has to be an easier way. Geez, I finally got my computer going again after replacing MOboard, cpu, and adding a mia card. Now I'm going nuts again trying to figure out midi. Is there software available to use Sb's midi in port to go to sonar and a softsynth? Any help is greatly appreciated.
