Im currently running Sonar with my omni studio connected to
an alesis RA-100 and a SB live in the pc , and i had a newbie question.

1.The metronome .....is there a way to get it to play thru the
Omni, instead of the SB Live ? I keep the SB Live as i still use
the pc for games and such

Ive figured out to get my soft synths to play thru the omni
as i am reading Sonar Power cover to cover and also reading
this forum with all the great info .

I understand the omni is not a midi capable card , is there some
way to trick this out or a recomended setup

Thanks in advance

Whats your thoughts on the ping DXI ?
Is this a well used app by people ?

I guess what i am asking is (being a newbie)
do most people have the metronome playing
thru there midi synth ?

Im assuming most people dont use the SB Live
in there setup

Thanks in advance

...yeah, Marcel had a very good explanation on the lower side of the thread. Do his way, no problem... ;)

The only problem by creating your own metronome or use a DXi, is that you won't hear the count in.

And except from using a hardware midi-device, you could use the PC Speaker... :D

...I always reserved the first measure blank. So the song's actualy recorded from measure 2 on. Here I can hear the lead in metronome in the first measure... ;)

Thanks guys , ive been thinking about this
question for a while .

Appreciate the quick and helpful response

You guys are the Best !!

... and what do you do if you need the count-in in the middle of the project, then? ;)

Piece of Cake... uhm... SONAR...

...take another track. Record a measure or two before the point. Bounce after done. You know I'm smart enough to do so... :p :D
