Sonar and keyboards

Beiing new to Sonar, I've been having much luck and no luck in getting what I want.
The first sing I ever recorded, I lined in my keyboard to my pre-amp and then to the audiophile. I use the audiophile for in and the SBlive for out (For the time being - I'm saving for good monitors). Anyway, I when I lined the keyboard into the preamp, I could hear it, though softly, through the speakers, so I could know what to play. I used this for bass and string parts.
Sounded great on my first song. My second song, and projects I've been working on after, don't allow me to do this anymore.
Now when I line in the keyboard I can't here it at all through the speakers, and sometimes - as my keyboard is also hooked up to midi - I get random drum sounds. I don't want to mike my keyboard. It's a hassle as I have only two mikes. So, can anyone tell me why I was able to hear my lined in keyboard during my first week of using SONAR, but no longer can?
Also, I tried midi for a while, even using included soft synths, but I never get the bass oomph and grace that the live keyboard gives. Same with pretty much every instrument. SUggestions? Thanks,

What kind of keyboard is it ?

It looks ( sounds ) like you are transmitting Midi on channel 10 wich is reserved for drums and that the local control is off ( no local sound, only midi sent ).

I'm having that same problem with cakewalk. I can hear and record the music from my keyboard, but when I try to mix the tracks, the keyboard track does not come out in the recording while all the other tracks are there. I've had to mic my keyboard and I do not like that. Anyone more suggestions. Thanks.
 
Local control is the name of a generic midi parameter.
This parameter allows to mute the sounds of the synth when you play on it. Since MIDI notes messages are still sent, the keyboards become a plain MIDI master keyboard.

Some synths do not implement this function, for the other you will have to dig in the documentation... Anyway, you should be able to Reset the keyboard, either by turing it off or by a specific key combination ( see doc again ).

Why are you recording audio from your keyboard ? you should record midi notes as you play. This way you can change sound, transpose, edit velocities, etc... until the song is right. The real audio recording should be done at 'mastering' time.
But maybe your keyboard is not multitimbral and you want to "dub" several parts ?
