Sonar 7 recording issues w/Korg TR61

I have a Korg TR61 wokstation and a HP laptop. I am using Cakewalk Sonar 7 recording software and am trying to record the tracks off the TR, but get nothing. I have it connected via USB from the TR to the laptop, but I have an erie feeling that I am missing something. Before I spend money on something I don't need, I am asking for help so that I can get what I need the first time. Anyone have any information for me? It will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar at all with the Korg, but does Sonar recognize it under MIDI devices?

If so, is the Korg set to send on a specific channel? Is the Sonar MIDI track that you are trying to record to configured to use that same channel as its input?

Are you seeing any movement on your track meters but not hearing audio? If that's the case, are you outputting to a soft synth from the track you are recording to?

Let us know if any of these are relevant to what you're struggling with.
