alright here's the dilema. started off, my computer crashed. wonderful.. so i bought a enw one, Windows vista was my only option so now i come to find out that my delta 1010lt isnt compatable and theres no drivers for it!

so i brought the delta 1010 to an old computer FOR NOW to get me past witht oday.

im using sonar 6 pro on it, the delta 1010lt and its being conected from the 1/2 in/outs of the rca to my monitors and the mic1/2 is connecte dot my mixer.

i have it set up on my m-audio thing to 1/2 and i cna hear the guitar come out fo the monitors when i play it to monitor mix or 1/2

but on sonar i cant hear anything. Im tyring to get the playback to work and the instument to go in.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone give me whatever you can. ive tried eveyr setting and cant get it to work.. please help

thanks

I recently had to buy a new computer with Vista pre installed. First thing I did was re format the drive and install my old XP Home SP2.

I still have the recovery disk that came with the computer so when my hardware has Vista support I can reload it.

I think that would be your best bet rather than messing with old machines etc.

ye athats what im gona end up having to do. i just found out my step bro has a copy of xp, so im gona do that.

thanks

Why can't you just use the XP disc from your old one?

You know, I've found that a lot of manufacturers don't include an XP disc anymore. They just partition a part of the HD for restoration and junk. That's so gay and inconvenient for those of us that WANT an XP disc. I guess it's their way of combating pirating or something.

Have you tried selecting different drivers in the Options, Audio dialogue? Try the MME drivers and see if that changes anything for you. I am no expert, but that worked for me on my Vista box.

Mind you, I have another box with XP Pro on it that I plan to use as my primary studio box - but I figured I might as well start playing with that an "out of the box" Vista machine can and cannot do...

Try selecting other drivers.

buryher17: just curious... the drivers don't work meaning you get no sound, or the drivers don't work meaning can't be installed? if you get no sound, then yes, do try MME instead of WDM/Dx or ASIO. if the drivers won't install at all, then you're going to have to reinstall XP, but try not to write over the manufacturers reinstall partition.

I have a similar issue. Also new to Vista and ended up using MME to get any playback in Sonar 6. The problem I'm having now is not being able to record. It goes for a fraction of a second then drops out. If I increase my latency on the audio-->general tab to max (safest) I can get about a full second before it drops (slight improvement). I know it's likely because of the crappy onboard realtek sound, but it works fine otherwise. I've never had to buy anything great to do my home recordings in the past. It's just a friggin simple stereo line-in! :p

Ended up taking my Audigy 2 ("Value") out of my home theater computer and using it in the new box, working fine so far in Sonar 6. For simple line-in solo stereo recording I don't understand why people pay $100-500 for a sound card.

I am running Sonar 6 Producer on a new dual core PC w/Vista through a Saffire PRO 26I/O audio interface and so far it has been rock solid. You need to download the Sonar 6.2 patch which addresses Vista compatibility. As for the Saffire PRO, you can't load the CD that it comes with but rather the drivers on the Focusrite web site. Both sites walk you through the process. I did it so you know it can't be too difficult. :D
