Sonar 4

I did a song in sonar 4 and exported it to audio(tiff wav.). The song is 29mb why is the song so big?

Is there a way to compressor it to make it less mbs? Or am I just stuck with it?
 
Why is that a problem?A 700 mb cd holds 80 minutes of music,your song is probably a little over three minutes long.

If you want a smaller file you should probably go with .mp3 at the exspense of sound quality.
 
The song is 2 min and the problem is that I want to put it on soundclick but they only allow 10mbs.
 
download a freeware mp3 convertor and convert your audio to mp3. :)
 
Here's another handy one. I've never had any problems with this utility, and I've converted hundreds of .shn files to WAVs using it. I'm sure it does MP3 encoding just as well. :)

So am I to understand you can't export a song to mp3 with Sonar 4? I'm still old school and use Pro audio 9 and it allows you to do this.
 
If you recorded higher than 44.1 and 16 bits you could lower it to this level and your file size would drop. Not sure why file size is a concern however.

It's a plug-in...there are a bunch out there for free. Once wrapped, SONAR will use many of them seamlessly when you go to the "Export Audio" then pick your file format. You can always get Cakewalk's solution (again a plug-in) as well.

Personally, I'm not a fan of MP3...I favor the .ogg format myself.
