Sonar 4 dropouts

When I add effects to my tracks in sonar 4 producer I get droputs all the time.

What causes this? I've got 12 tracks going with no other programs open.

This never used to happen on my old system with 512 of memory and a 1.8g processor. Now I'm running xp on a 2.4g p4 with a gig of memory, a 40gig HD for windows and programs and m-audio delta 44 cards.

Any ideas?

I'm betting it's a latency-issue. Are you using WDM or ASIO-drivers?

WDM: Turn the latency-slider a little bit more to the right
ASIO: Set the buffer settings in your Delta Control Panel to a little higher.
