Hello all, new to posting and sonar, not to the site or industry.

When I am doing my input monitoring in Sonar 3, I can hear both the effected guitar, and the clean guitar, what am I doing wrong here?

Thanx in advance!

Depending on which one you want to hear, enable/disable the input/output drivers.

OPTIONS>AUDIO>DRIVERS

You can mute the input on your soundcard and only the effected signal will be heard. This is good for insert effects such as Revalver.

Thank ye, ill try that.

Still no go, i am using the kx drivers for my sblive (2496 on its way as we speak) and when i set the input to none, I get clean input, so I set it back on the kx asio driver

When i put output on none, i get clean, so I put it back on the asio drivers as well.

with both in and out selected with the asio drivers, I have clean and dist.

it sounds simple, but have you checked your windows sound settings? if the line-in is coming through, and you're also using input monitoring on sonar, then both will come through. you've probably already checked this, but just in case.

I have a Delta card.I mute the signal in the control panel but can still hear the effected signal as long as input monitoring is enabled and an effect is either inserted or ran through a send.

This is your problem.

Basicaly, keerus got the point well. The problem is, although KX driver is good, it's GUI is not as intuitive as Creative's/Microsoft's one. I'm not sure where and how to do it (I'm not using KX driver), but you need to turn off "Line in" (in KX mixer) AND turn on "input monitoring" (in Cakewalk) to hear only "effect'd" sound. Vice versa, if you wan't to hear only clean sound, you need to turn on "Line in" (in KX mixer) AND turn off "input monitoring" (in Cakewalk).

ok guys, ill tweak around and report back. The Kx driver Gui is the worst ive ever seen.

OK, I cannot solve this problem. Whats even stranger is that I am a pc technician, and had tried most of this stuff earlier, to no avail.

with the line in muted on the master mixer, and the kx mixer, I get no sound at all, even in sonar when input mon is active, nothing, no levels or anything, so I go into the master mixer, unmute line in, and i get dist guitar, and clean guitar. Now this is just in input mon, not when i actually record, when i record I do only get the effected signal.

I messed around with all the stuff in the kx mixer, the ac97, everything and still cant get a sound at all with the line in muted.

Does anybody know if there are a different set of hacked Creative drivers that support ASIO low latency? The Kx drivers interface is plain ridiculous, they cant even take the time to label half of the stuff, instead they put some fantastic abstract icons which you are supposed to figure out what they mean.

Here is my settings in sonar

I think I found the answer for your problem...

It's your taste of choosing...

YELLOW skin...

AAARRGGGHHHH!!!!! I'M BLIND!!!

Kiddin' :D :D :D

CavityCr33p, I think your problem is rather related to the driver, than Cakewalk itself, either I don't think many people here having excelent knowledge about KX driver. However, you better also visit this forum and send your inquiry...
