Rock Steady
When I`m in piano roll and try to slide a note it generates another note on top of it and i have to delete it. Any note I select generates another copy at the point in the notes duration where I "grab" it.
Anybody got any ideas?

Toki, you have to grab it at a point where the cursor changes shape. When the cursor changes into an up and down arrow, you can raise or lower the note. At each end, when the cursor changes into a left and right arrow, you can either change the duration (right) or the starting point of the note (left).

Thanks Mike, and your right of course. It seems though that it is more sensitive since I upgraded. I was thinking I didnt have to be as careful to the touch with 2.0 and could move something a bit more recklessly without generating another note.

Yup. Sure is sensitive. If you twitch even just a little before you click the mouse, you’ll get that unwanted extra note.

The ones that really bug me are the ones that are overlayed exactly over the first note. You can’t even see that there is a second note there. Then when you’re playing things back, you find yourself wondering why the velocity jumps at that point. :)

Is it me or is piano roll to small to work with? i only fiddled around with it so i might just need to put in some time, but i mean , come on , for creating drum lines that one beat per count sucks...! Try creating a double bass drum! so, is there a quick way to resolve this?

Not sure I know what you mean, but you can resize it using the zoom tools in the lower right hand corner.

I'll try it (not at home right now). I mean , that you get the grid, but it has 4 seperate cubes for a whole 4/4 measure. That sucks. I want to be able to do at the very least 1/16 notes in a 4/4 measure. And the notes keep sliding left and right and i get angry and confused at the same time (mind you, i'm using fruity loops now so i may just have to shut the f*ck up):o

You can change the setings on the grid (all the way to 64th notes). Just click the down arrow next to the show/hide grid icon and select the setting you want.

Also, there is a "snap to" grid function available that should prevent the notes from sliding around. If you are doing drum tracks with mostly 8th notes, just set the snap to setting for 8th notes.

Thank you Dachay. I kinda expected a function to do this but couldn't find one on the fly. And since i needed to do clicktracks quickly (our drummer has VERY little time) i just did the FL to sonar thing. WEill try though . Thanks

Guhlenn:)
