Hi,
I just set up Sonar w/ Reason via Rewire.

I can control Reason from Sonar...works great, very low latency.

But..........

I would like to record automation of Reason instrument parameters, and I cant figure out how to do it.

For example, if I wanted to do a filter sweep on a Subtractor patch, how could I record the automation?

is this even possible?

Thanks

Hmmm... actualy, you don't have to post three thread for this question  But I think it's not your fault, it's BBS's error. It happens these days... :)

Anyway, you might want to wait for moskus for the answer. It's absolutely his field. I don't have Reason / Rewire, so there's nothing I can do to help you :o Sorry :)

Almost every knob in Reason can be automated. Here's how I would do it:

1) In Reason: Rightclick on the knob and select which MIDI-parameters that should control it.
2) In Sonar: On the synths track, rightclick and select Envelopes, and Create Midi Envelope. Select the channel and Controller you chose in Reason...

Now you can make filter-sweeps all over the place! Just control the Envelope (if you don't know how to work with envelopes, search the Help files or this Forum).

:)

this is driving me nuts. i still cant figure it out.

when i first right click the knob on reason, do i choose 'edit automation', 'edit keyboard remote', or 'edit midi remote mapping'?

do i have to adjust the 'midi settings' or 'advanced midi' in reason?

thanks!
