For all of you who know that gunk does accumulate on 1/4 plugs and the insides of where 1/4 inch plugs go, here is a neat little cleaning tool that utilizes interesting technology.
Name: Conductool by Synersonix
Purpose: Cleans 1/4 inch plugs and 1/4 inserts
[they also make a unit to clean RCA and XLR plugs]
Cost: 19.95 @ Musician's Friend [haven't seen it in any other catalogs yet.]
Info: "Insert the mono or stereo 1/4 inch tip of the cable into the small hole in the back of the CONDUCTOOL handle. Insert in/out a couple of times."
For inserts: Use the tip of the unit that resembles a 1/4 inch plug and insert and remove a couple of times.
Non-poisonous. Lasts 1/5 years depending on use. Each treatment lasts 90 days.
I just got one and it sure is easy to use and I think very beneficial for a good clear signal.
As the literature says, the tool is like a "molecular toothbrush."
