I really appreciate everyones honesty here. Love this board.
To answer some of your questions. Im shocked that I got a decent sound out of the acoustic. I used my "camp fire Oscar Schmidt special" with a missing high E string. Recorded with the Rode NT1 into a Presonus blue tube and minor reverb from my Alesis Midiverb.
Vocals were recorded the same way but dry and then Waves Reverb plugin added during mixdown.
I always stack drum samples to create unique sounds. And also to make them bigger.
(Not a big fan of EQ, use it sparingly)
I use CEP 2.0 now for recording. Its really fast for me to edit the individual tracks, and I master using T-Racks. Mostly to get the volume up and to compress slightly. 1:85 ratio with quick release and attack. EQ if needed.
I want to say a special thanks to MixMkr:
I was tinkering around tonight with the vocals and was coming up with a couple of minor improvisions. I doubled everything I sung. I think it helps my singing since Im a little all over the place. But you forced me to work even harder on the song and thats appreciated.
I changed a part of the song. If you have a listen to the updated song let me know if it fits or not. I think it helps to break up monotiny.
Thanks again
