Erland man, I REALLY liked that one! It's gotta be one of your best. You're right about the vox, but that's easily fixed. I think the song is very strong on it's own like it is without any other instrumentation. Nice guitar playing!

Hey

Hi BD, really? I think its quite a shocker. Infact I was just wondering why on earth I posted. Then i remembered the 23 more to go!

Well thanks a lot for that mate.

Erland

Erland,
It just reminds me of the old days when I was soloing....it kinda exudes that intimate room setting....took me back a bit. Good stuff!

Hi Erland,

Great to hear your music again. I took a few days and came to my parents' place, where all my recording gear is. I'm getting ready to play live again once my exams are over.

The song is awsome. The fact that it's kinda different than your usual style only adds to it. Keep it up!

Erland, from what I've heard of your material I don't think you're capable of producing anything that is uninteresting or doesn't sound good, and this is no exception.

I do think that the overall level is way too low (not just the vocals). The overall volume is about 20% of other homerecorded stuff that I was just listening to. I also get the feeling that the song is not quite complete (I wish I could be more specific). As always, I like to close-sounding vocal, although this time it might be a little TOO close; same with the guitar -- your stuff always has a polish to it despite its simplicity, and this recording is a tad rough.

The volume IS low on these tracks, not sure why either.

Erland, I've enjoyed all your tracks you've posted so far but I've listen to this 4 of 5 times now and this one isn't doing it for me for whatever reason. Not sure why about that either, probably because your others were so strong.

As always the musicality of the song is top notch and very listenable. I love the harmonies. As others have said you have a problem with the levels being too low. IMHO technically there is something annoying about the esses ... I think it's the silibance and reverb interacting. Perhaps you could de-ess the vocals a bit.

I haven't listened to anything on the forum for ages since the IT 'police' started cracking down on mp3's here at work ! I thought one of your songs would be worth it... you didn't disappoint.

Cheers
David

PS I'm moving to the UK in Sep. It would be awesome to have a jam !

nice

Thanks guys for checking it out. I want to post all my songs up but cant get space just yet, so I will keep taking down and adding.

Hi Aren, how you doin? Great of you to have a listen. I hope eveything is going groovy for you. Cheers so much for dropping into the challenge site! awsome.

LI_Slim. Thanks for taking a minute. Thats a real nice thing to say. I suppose the track is supposed to be a quite one but I do have to normalise everything I think after. Yes I think i could add more to this one too. Thanks again for checking out my stuff.

Hi lynx, ahh well. i new I would finally post a duff one but thats cool. Without bad, there is no good. Thanks so much for checking out the songs. I think I will turn the volume up on all the tracks once complete. Cheers!

Hey dres, alrightee. Thanks alot for downloading from work, thats great. I think that this track definately needs a few repair jobs. Unfortuantely I bouce everything onto two tarcks on the four track. I dont know how to get the vocal up now. I will be back in the Uk by september but there are talks of South America, ahh. I would like to jam too.

All the best and thanks for listening guys.

Erland

nice tune. sounds like a good tune to play in a cafe or pub on a stool. It don`t grab me like your others but that doesn't mean it`s not good. you know the vox is too low so I cant say anything bout anything else.

another good song erland. so you're one third of the way now?

love your shakers. still using bags of sugar?

Erland

I'll be waiting:D

This was a pretty cool song, yup the vox needs to come up.

Bill;)

good one! I really like this one but I don't like the mix. As you said the vocals are too low, but they are also a bit sibilant.. definitely a different style from you.. a bit darker.. I like it!

yep, different, but I like it. And it's a good "mix" with your other "ss" tunz. And you know, raise the vocals. I want the cd, so hurry up, I can't wait until summer is gone. he he he he he

sounds like YOU!! ... wonder why??!!

nice finger picking... nothing too intimidating, but nice and sweet.

I think the fingerpicking style lends well in helping you to write. It gives you a nice full solo sound. Grab some nice chord changes like you do, a nice melody, and walla!! it's so easy..... ha!!

thx Erland...;)

Thanks

a lot for checking out this tune guys and cheers Triple M for popping into to say Hi on the website! nice

Toki987. Yeh its a funny song I dont know were it came from. Definately need to sort out the mix. Quite fun to play on its own because the picking is wierd.

erichenryus. Hey there. Yup true man! ace. I just finished 11, but its abit of a cheat really because its a fill. The shaker is actually an African pod seed thing. It has 18 individual balls with seeds in them. You attach it to your leg and jump up and down. A friend gave it to me all the way from Namibia. No more sugar for me. Cheers again Eric.

wfaraoni. Hi Bill, erm, I better get cracking. Next installment is ready.

B.SABBATH. Hi Sam. Awsome of you to drop in. I agree, I would have to redoo the entire song though becasue everything is on 2 tracks bounced from 4. Anyway, thanks, it is alittle dark. Its about girls cheeting on thier boyfriends.

dtb, Awsome mate. Yup disk one is ready, lol. Yeh its definately a little different from the rest. Thats good.

Hi mixmkr, yeh, sorry I put on a very cheezy American accent. It all started with railroad track. Well thanks for the nice comments, I think I am getting a little better at finger picking too, its quite messy though. Thz again.

This song is a little strange and the vocal is too low but I think it gets there in the end. If you have the time could you give it a spin?

A song every morning, thats this weeks plan.

Erland

yeah. that's different all right.

if you must speak-sing, at least 'butter' up the timbre of your voice. do you own any dylan? not that you should emulate his style but to pull of what you are attempting you are going to need all the help you can get.

Nice one. I liked the finger picking style. Kind of Paul McCartney-ish. Using shakers a lot these days huh?

I see super_wanker chimed in. Lets see......hmmm, how can I put this politely? I can't. Piss off moron until you can be objective and constructive. Shove your taste. k, I feel better.

Back to E-man....

I was a bit taken at first, not what I expected!

But....I do like this a lot. It came together quite nicely. The backing vocals needed to come up. (your harmonies and backing vocals are something that always shine but seemed to fall short on this one) I think I'd like more stereo image out of the guitars, but that's my pref. Not one of your better mixes, but I think the "darker" side of Erland has potential lol. More of the dark side from you and I think you and B.Sabbath could do some killer comps with him adding piano/strings and things :)

I'd like to hear more in this style from you. But then again, just another side of a very talented individual.

Keep it up!
