The attached pic is of my son's 21st birthday present, which he will be opening in about 10 hours from now.

It is a "one off" 6/12 slimline acoustic-electric from master luthier Jim Williams and was made in 2000 as a special order..............the owner decided to sell at just the right time for us to buy it.

Interesting that the 12 is on the bottom - I don't believe I've seen one like that...

That is one piece of work!

I am sure the pic doesn't do it justice.

Your son is a lucky kid, and he'll never forget this day as long as he lives.

Well we only have the one kid in the house.........well the wife reckons I'm still a kid too:D ..............but our son doesn't cause us any major grief, he doesn't object to helping out around the house with ANY chores to give the wife a break and he loves his music. Yeah, I know he has the occasional joint with his friends but he doesn't hide the fact and it is only occasional, so I don't complain. Consequently, we think this is not only a fair payback, but as jcmm said, something that he will always remember his 21st by.

That's very cool! When I was about that age my folks spent about a grand on a really nice guitar for me too. Best damn thing they ever bought for me.

Way Cool Axe there Aus!! Sorry it took so long for me to dig my way out of theave for is response... busy, busy, busy ya know...lo. I like the neck angles.. it looks like transition between the two while in the middle of a song would be easier with this design as opposed to the Gibson or Ovation styles that have the necks coming off the body parallel. Wicked Nice (gotta love the nakedness of the mother-of-pearl work ;) ).
