Someone explain this: eBay weirdo

Yeah, you guys haven't done a lot of bidding on ebay. That's legit. Yes, the person has zero feedback, but that's where everyone starts from. And when you're new to it, and you still think there are bargains on ebay, you're more likely to do a bunch of little manual bid increases than to say exactly what you're willing to spend outright. It takes a while to get used to proxy bidding.

NO, you guys are all full of shit! That's not how it bid!

-At 16:02:31, 73o53789 bid $500.

-At 16:07:28, hyokki bid $810, which would probably have shown up as a bid for $510, that's $10 over the previous bid.

-At 16:14:33, gaal9708 wen on a futile bidding attempt, starting at $530, at which time the previous high bid amount from hyokki kept trumping her every bid,... up until gaal9708 maxed out at $800, and the bid closed for $810 from hyokki.

Hyokki bid the high bid before any self-bidding frenzy occured on the part of gaal9708, and even though the bid jumped $300 in 2 minutes, it's all legitimate in the way the Ebay game is played.;)

Before filling me with shit read my earlier post from Nov 4.

Skipped reading that one, pal, you're right!

The bid history looks totally legitimate to me. Hyokki bid highest, right off the bat, but gaal9708 wanted it really badly, & so jacked up the bid in the last few minutes. If I was hyokki, I'd be hating gaal9708, but so go the Ebay wars.;)

Webstop's right, although I didn't read his post until a minute ago.

All you other guys who think this is sinister gaming of Ebay, are full of it. Ebay's a tough game, sometimes, and that's the way it goes. Everyone gets outbid, at one time or another.;)

OK, you are forgiven.
Its kinda like copyright thing, you know... ;)

Ha, yeah.

Anyway, any time I say "all you guys" or "everyone", it's always the one or two guys who's posts I skipped who come & nail me!

You can hardly ever make an overly general, sweeping statement about anything on this board, and without getting nailed for it! Ha.;)
