Trying to run some powered monitors from my Mixer through the xlr main outs. Computer is hooked up to mixer and I can listen to audio from comp through headphones that are plugged into to mixer. Can't get anything from main output. 75 watt woofer and 25 watt tweeter in monitors.

This may sound dumb but are the monitors plugged into a powersource and turned on?

Monitors are plugged in and seem to powering up. The lights on them come on anyway. volume is up too.

It's firewire. Getting a level reading on mixer from comp, just can't seem to send it out. I can send it to the headphones though.

which mixer is it, and is there a button that you push that sends the signal to mains?

What ever channel that your going into on the mixer do you have the attenuation up plus the fader on the channel and the mains?

Try soloing the channel that the computer is going into to see if there is anything going on and registering.

It's a mackie onyx series. The comp goes into the mixer direct through firewire, it's not into a specific channel. As far as there being a button to send signal to mains the only one I see is used to send main mix to control room and according to my instruction manual that goes through two 1/4' jacks, not the xlr outputs. Main mix fader is raised.

Ah, maybe that's it though! There's nothing going in through the mic inputs and therefore there is no main mix! I need to get cables that will enable me to hook monitors up through the control room out.

Well, poop, that can't be it either. Should be able to send control room to main output. Tried running a mic through one of the channels anyway and it didn't work. Though it is registering on the board.

I think you have it backwards you are to come out of the mackie into your computer.

Is it the 1604i? On the back your have a switch and a volume control on the main out puts.
