Some photos taken yesterday of my modified "$50 DIY Desk" and some gear.

Definitely a bigger desk! Makes room for MORE STUFF!!!!!!!

Need another room!

I know what that's like! My wife hasn't said anything about the big plastic storage bin that now resides in our sunroom (filled with gear). And it took her all last winter to realize I had guitars stored in the living room!

Understood!
Unfortunately, I have nowhere else to go/store, per se.
In fact, I am and have been selling stuff to keep my Studio "Footprint" fairly constant.
If I see that I am not using it much, it goes.
That has been a good concept as well as a bad concept but it keeps me honest in regards to "need and want".

You need one of these posters on the wall:

I'm a dog person, myself, but this is the most reassuring cat I've ever seen. It would eliminate all anxiety in the studio.

I'm in a 7.5' x 10' x 12.5' room with my huge desk that takes most of one short wall, piano, drums, three guitars, bass, guitar amp, LARGE bass amp (Yamaha B100 on a Peavey 1820) + bookshelf and filing cab and a huge OSS boom stand that can telescope out into almost anywhere in the room....and I have more gear out in the shed that I need to fit in eventually (some old rack gear, drum throne, more mike stands, etc.)! I still need to build a small mike locker (and put a few in it!), get a decent guitar amp (orange/mesa/blackstar, maybe marshall, I dunno yet). I love my room, but it's not an ideal studio situation. Would make a great mixdown room, but for tracking/performance/mixing/mixdown/mastering it's not perfect...

My room's a little smaller, no big amps (got rid of them), but I've got a china hutch, 8 guitars + bass and other instruments including keyboard.
We do what we gotta do with what we got! :listeningmusic:

In my new studio, I've chosen to keep the guitars in their cases and out of the room. Since I'm not a dedicated guitarist it's not like I need any of them on hand for immediate use anyways. Less stuff on stands on the floor (and no wall space left for mounting due to acoustic panels/diffusers and already hanging mic stands and cables)! Only actual out on the open visible musical instruments i have in there now are drums, stands/cables on walls, a 12" combo tube amp, bass rig with head and 1x15" cab, pianorgan from the 60's (more for vintage looks and comic relief), and a keyboard, oh and a milk crate on floor behind drums with various percussion accessories, oh and bongos on a stand! :p

Edit: thinking of building a separate 10x10 room to house nothing but storage rack upon storage rack of cowbells. Just need to buy more cowbells.
