These guys came in and were amazing. The drumming was great. Guitarists were great. Singer was great.

Snare>m-201>bae 312a
Kick>d112>bae 312a
OHs>mxl 603>M12 pres
Rack Tom>sm57>M12 pres
Floor Tom>sm57>M12 pres
Room>u195>M12 pres
Guit 1>combo sm57 and e609>bae 312a
Guit 2>combo sm57 and e609>bae 312a
Bass>JDI as well as sm57>bae 312a
Vox>u195>bae 312a

All through a BLA modded Delta 1010.

Anyway, this is not mixed other than tweaks along the recording process. I can't wait to get really into it and bring some of the guitar parts out and really get the backing vox kicking. Let me know what you think.

Wow, great song! Really talented band, especially the drummer. It sounds amazing as is, doesn't really need a whole lot of tweaking, especially if you want to keep that raw punkiness. The guitars need to go up and could use a bit more mids. The snare also could use just a tiny bit more volume.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I really liked the guys and their songs.

As for the mix. I want to get the gang vocals more punchy. Also I think I need to get the toms to punch through the guitars more, because they sound great and their drummer did some really good fills.

Dude this is sweet. Sounds like Lifetime / Kid Dynamite / Shook Ones. Stoked on the music, the mix could need a little work but i'm not on my monitors right now so i'll reply later with some of that. =] Peace!

The mix could use a lot of work. :) I haven't started yet.

Sounds pretty good. Like old NOFX.

I think the drums sound kind of flat on the whole. They're played fantastically, and seem to have been tracked well, they just need some punch. They just sound sort of one dimensional. Everything else sounds pretty good. It's nice to hear some old-school punk instead of all this faggy fallout-boy sounding shit thats popular now.

Hey, Fall Out Boy used to be good. I could really hear this easily with that big thick, full sound like DKM or something.

Here's another song that I've mixed a little more. I think the toms will probably be too loud cause I just jacked them up last night and didn't listen before mixing it down and going to sleep.

Sweet. Another great one. Toms are a little much, yeah. Otherwise it's great.

Thanks for listening! Do you think the overall mix is too dry? I'm terrible with reverb.

Nah, it's not. The music fills up all the space it needs to without more reverb. Too much and it'd be really sloppy.

That makes me happy to hear. I have a short plate on the snare and vox and otherwise it's all the room.

Too muck kick in my cheap headphones. Great band.

All around this is a good mix and a really fun listen.

Which song has too much kick? The first one posted or second?

And thanks for the listen and reply!
