Some newbie questions.

Okay, I'm considering getting a compressor. Specifically I've been looking at this one:

First of all, is this decent? I can't afford to spend too much more than this, but if anybody knows of a better one in this approximate price range I'd love to know about it.

Okay, part two of my question (and forgive me if this is a dumb question, I'm still VERY new to recording). Would this unit (or compressor units in general) provide the phantom power I'd need to use condenser mics? I use a Tascam 788 which doesn't provide its own phantom power.

It's a decent compressor for the money. Compressors are not normally a source for phantom power. Phantom power is usually found with mixers or dedicated mic pre's.
