Here's a remake I did of an old blues standard.. Someone said it sounded like Gilmour in parts.. you think?

Every comment on the mix or playing appreciated!

Not bad at all...

Love that organ backing...

Like the guitar overdubs...sounds like you flanged the rythmn guitar, and used a Uni Vibe on the first lead (hence the Gilmourish sound)...

I like it...I can even notice a bit of Jeff Beckish stuff in there (second lead)...

Very nice stuff! The mix itself is both big and intimate--perfect for the this bluesy style, and then when the vocal comes in it sounds just right for the big intimate mix.

There's a very nice texture going behind the lead and vox with the keys and rhythm guitars.

I really like it...

One tiny nit--the higher gain setting on the guitar sounds a tad sizzly. Could maybe use less distortion gain, and more power tube gain to warm it up a little. But that's pure taste--it might be what you were going for and perfect for you. Great playing by the way.

After another listen...

I noticed the Gilmourish lead (played underneath the lead Vox) is sandwiched in between the Beckish leads...Cool.

Thanks for the comments! I was thinking it was like Beck in parts too! It's funny cause neither Beck or Gilmour are people I consciously try to emulate, I'm more of a SRV/Setzer guy..

The main solo has an Octa-fuzz for the first part, I like that screaming-crying fuzzy sound, one of my favorite effects!

Yes, but...

I've always thought of Gilmour as an awesome blues guitarist (in fact, the solo on "Money" is one of my favorite blues jams), and SRV and Setzer are not that far away. I would also assume that you are a Michael Schenker fan?? He is certainly no slouch either.

Well, Gilmour, Schenker, SRV... I don't know, but this is a good song, well played and recorded.

Thanks for sharing.

Man, what a great tune!
Floydish yeah, but more Gary Moore when the voice comes in. Is that you singing? Great voice! Guitar work is subtle and with plenty of feel. Recording sounds fine to me.
Fantastic, really love it.

Joe :):):):):)

Shit, Thats excellent. I like blues more than I realise. I should listen to it more cos that was a couple of minutes of pure enjoyment....and I'm listening on my laptop. Something to be very proud of.

Classic blues. Spacious, restrained, and played with tasteful elegance.

It certainly has essence of Gilmour in there.

Awesome vocals . . . heaps of character in the voice, and buckets of intensity.

Whitestrat made some comments on guitar tone, and I agree. I would be interested in hearing what a marginally less sizzly tone would sound like.

Great use of guitar sounds in my right ear at about 4.30 . . . very growly!

Wow, thanks for the positive encouragement everyone! :D

The lead guitar is going through a fuzz, which would explain the sizzle. It's just a virtual one so I can still change it, maybe I'll experiment a little.

You're motivating me to start on another tune! Ooh.. followup hit.. that's always hard..

Great tune and playing. Funny how you said SRV. Listened before I read the posts and noticed a touch of Stevie in your vocals. Great stuff...

Tasteful reverb. I like that organ quietly smoking in the background. Good sounds, very well done

VERY Gary Moore in the white, pommy, guitar freak version of Chicago blues.
The sizzle on the git is a little annoying - distracts from pure enjoyment just a tiny bit.
There were moments that reminded me of Kossoff post Free - he of the LP & Marshall stack fat warm tin can opening lead lines.
