Hey man, what would you want for one of those DMP3's?? I'm a student without much cash at all but trying to build a modest home studio. Thats whiy I'm trying to buy used.... I've seen new ones going for around $160 on ebay. Are they in good condition, with everything working perfectly?? Thanks ... BJ

Flossyboy: There are 2 available. Any chance you're interested in both?

Antz_Marchin: Please note those are DMP2s. The predecessor to the DMP3. They are in perfect working and cosmetic condition. I'd probably let 'em go for $50 a piece plus shipping.

Hey Lunatic, don't know much about these Pre's, kinda new to this stuff.....maybe you can help me out here with a few questions.

- Firstly will this pre work out well with my SBLive card, do I have to get a splitter to plug the 2 outputs into the 1 input in my card?
- How does it compare to the DMP3??
- Is this a better pre than the AudioBuddy or VTB-1.....Quiet??
- Would this be a better choice of Phantom Power than a Behringer 802 mixer or something for my comp. since I can just use the sliders and EQ that I have in Sonar...that way I don't really need them on the input??
- Does it come with the AC wall power box??

Sorry for all the questions, some of which may be stupid....just trying to get started in this ......thanks ....BJ

The DMP2 should work just fine with your SBLive. You would connect the output(s) of the DMP2 to the Line In on the SBLive card. I'm guessing that the SBLive Line In doesn't record in stereo. Therefore, if you use a Y cable from the DMP2 to the SBLive your recording may be mono. You'll have to check the manual for the SBLive. I would probably just record one channel at a time so you can create a stereo mix in Sonar. Either way you'll need a cable that goes from 1/4" to 1/8".

- How does it compare to the DMP3??
I cannot compare the DMP2 to the DMP3 because I have never owned a DMP3. However, try a search on this BBS. I seem to recall many discussions comparing the two when the DMP3 came out.[/quote]

- Is this a better pre than the AudioBuddy or VTB-1.....Quiet??
I've never used either of those pres so I cannot comment. I can tell you that it is a quiet preamp.

- Would this be a better choice of Phantom Power than a Behringer 802 mixer or something for my comp. since I can just use the sliders and EQ that I have in Sonar...that way I don't really need them on the input??
By this I assume you mean computer. I feel this is a better preamps than those in the Behringer's. As for being better than something for your computer, that's a different story. If you're looking for an upgrade in sound the first thing I would probably buy is a better soundcard.

- Does it come with the AC wall power box??
Yes. It has a "wall wart".

Hey, I'd give you $50 cash for the second composer. I'm in Boulder, so I could pick it up, or meet in Golden. I'd also go $80 for the pair of DMP2s in the rack if Antz doesn't take them. Cash and carry!

Let me know. Thanks,

J

I've got a buddy here at work that might want the headphone amp too. How much for it?

Colorado Jay,

I'm thinkin' $70 for the headphone amp?

If no other takers jump on the second Composer Pro and Antz_Marchin decides he doesn't want them then they are yours!

We can meet in Golden or you can come and get 'em. No preference here.

Peace,
Lunatic

OK, email me contact info at coloradojay@yahoo.com and we'll set it up. Sat or Sun should work for me, if all is good.

Antz... Awaiting your response here to the DMP2s...

Hey guys, sorry I was having a nap.....had a nice all nighter last night for school. Well If the offer is down for $80 for both and that's ok, I'd love to take one off your hands for $40+ship and leave the other for the other for ColoradoJay. That way they both for go for you for $80 and we each get one. I don't really need both right now, and I really appreciate you giving me a crack at them, even though I wasn't sure yet......that's really cool, Thanks very much.......BJ (sorry again about all the questions earlier...thanks for the responses)

Flossyboy: You out there?

Antz_Marchin: Shoot me an e-mail at bsmalling@go.com and we can work out the shipping and payment details.

Colorado Jay: Check your e-mail.

Peace,
Brad

Well, Flossyboy hasn't responded to my e-mails for almost a week now, so yes there is still a compressor for sale. You can contact me at bsmalling@go.com.
