bitch had some pretty fancy geetar playin... i liked it when you played that really high fast stuff ;)

seriously though, nice playing. The rhythm guitars could have been a little more "present" or up front in the mix. The drum machine could have been put a little further back in the mix... especially those nasty cymbals you get with drum machines.

Hey DaVeEe -- Welcome to the board :)

I listened to OLP 4am (you mention that this is a cover ... I haven't heard the original) ...

Sounds like a good song. Mixing wise, it sounds like the verb really takes over this tune and you are kind of swimming ... I guess my only mixing advice would be to lose some of the verb on the vocal, otherwise the vocals sounded pretty good.

Nice playing on this.

Also listened to Bitch -- Okay, drum machine aside -- nice guitar playing. The entire mix sounded a little bit too low...maybe a boost can make it come alive a little more and accentuate your playing. Not a bad recording overall, just a tad low in volume for this type of tune.

Thanks for giving us a listen! :)

Tahnks for the advice

The our lady peace original...there is supposed to be alot of verb in that song,, but I think I went a little overboard,, not really confident with myt vocal abilities..lol

As for the bitch,,, I drug that off an old 4 trch recording.. never was very good at mastering..

Thanks for the listen,, and I'll crank the verb down a bit... :)

Pretty cool reverb effect on the first one.

How bout somethin better...

As I think I mentioned, I was the lead guitar player for a local Hamilton ontario band called Mag Rag.. featuring Nancy Rancourt of NancyRancourt.com.. Holy $hiT, this chick can sing, it was like watching a little bird in a tree.. anyway.. the song "Bitch" was formed in the basement of her recording studio.. Well my wife was there, and Nancy and her were discussing how much they both dispised my ex-girlfriend Jenn... Well,, as I was listening to them, I was accounting in my head and eventually how much I used to care about this girl they were talking shit about.. I recalled a song that I wrote for her.. no name,, just a pretty little ditty.. I had my guitar in my hand,, and was fu@king around on it,, and starte to play this pretty little ditty (which I am gonna post very shortly.. for your comparison).. Unbenounced to my wife, and Nancy, I was reminissing in thier faces.. well it backfired... The riff was cool enough to catch Nancy's attention... They asked me what it was I was playing,, and I said some little thing I made up.. and they said cool,, and Nancy and her started to write words to it.. not very nice ones either.. thier focal point was the scrutiny of my ex girlfriend Jenn... Nancy bopped out the tune to my bassist and drummer,, and fuck if it wasn't a one hit wonder... So what of the lyrics... well I can't sing them,, they are way out of my range as the song is in D,, and the best I can do is G.. So what's the somthin better.. I still have a vid of us at the Opera house in Toronto Ontario, as well as a vid cap card for my computer.. I'm gonna extract the Audio for your listening pleasure.. so stay tuned......

Wecome to the board. I listened to both tunes. 4 AM, too much ver/echo and some hiss (cassette multi track?) but decent performance.
Bitch; I liked the guitar tone. Played well too. Drum machines suck :D but they're a nessassary evil sometimes (and unlike a real drummer you only have to beat the pattern into it once:D ).
They need to come up in the mix, at least the kick and snare.
Stick around friend.

Thank you

I totally forgot to mention...

Thank you all for the warm welcome...

TaDa

Ok.. here you guys go... I dug up the vid of my band live,, and put it through cubase... sorry for the quality,,, but it was a crappy video camera.. so I did the best I could,, not to mention we were playing the opera house in toronto,, so the pre-delay was...scarey....

So here you go.....

She's a bitch (LIVE)

On "She's a Bitch."

Ok the recording wasn't so good, but it sounded like a pretty nice song. Good feel to it. Couldn't make out a single word (except the tag line). But again, nice feel.

On "Bitch"

Is this the live one without the vocals? The overall level of the song is rather quiet. The guitar has a nice tone to it. I'd like to hear a little more definition to the bass sound to bring it out. Needs words put to it.

Just thoughts... Trip

hmmmm

Actually,,, it's the same song.. one is a 4 track instumental,, and the other is off of a live show at teh opera house in toronto..

The bass for bitch was actually done with a guitar,, and a bass synth pedal...

I don't have the master tracks anymore,, although I was thinking of re-writing the lyrice to reflect my point of view, rather than a female perspective..

if your curious to the words,, here they are...

Some people think she's very nice
I think ther really should think twice
hey look she's got no underware
it smells so awkward in the air

Chorus
She's a bitch
I wish that she was dead
I wanna kick her in the head
I sleep comfortably inside her bed
the covers soft
someday I'll tell her off

Hey look he's not here with you
you oughta see the things we do
I swear he's never said your name
he can't remember , what a shame

Cuz She's a bitch
I wish that she was dead
I wanna kick her in the head
I sleep so comfortably inside her bed
the cover's soft
Someday I'll tell her off

I changed the words you wrote that day
It's not my fault you look that way
The grass is greener over here
I bought paper bags my dear

CHORUS

SOLO

CHORUS

why is it that you can only make one post every :60 seconds?

Just wondering.
