i've been writing a lot of solo material for a while and i'm ready to put it on a cd. i have parts wrote to every song on every instrument. (guitars, vocals, drums, bass, keyboards)
i'm not rich so don't give me the whole i need a $900 condenser and such. i just want the cd to sound good, i want to get the point across with each track you know? i'm not trying to sell a million records here.
i've been looking on ebay at home recording studios and i really don't know which way to go.
i'm guessing i'm going to go with a computer studio.
if i could get some advice that would be great.
i'm only 20 with a pretty much bullshit job but any advice instead of someone ranting to me on how i need to spend a million dollars would be greatly appreciated.
i'm looking for a good deal with decent quality and some advice on how to go about it.
as far as mics and stuff go i have a couple sure sm58's and some sm58 knock offs that aren't too bad (as most people do) and my friend has a really nice condenser he'll let me use if he's here. (which he will be)
and if you're wondering what style the cd is going to be (if that makes a real difference).... uhm. my favorite musician is ben gibbard. if you crossed his stuff with mellower phases of loudermilk placebo bush and a simpler jim croce i guess i'd come across kind of like that.

well. thanks for reading through this.
