I'm thinking of buying the NT-1 for vocal/guitar and am thinking about going solid state on the pre'.

Anyone have any suggestions in the $100-$250? Would like to have an insert for compresion as I don't know where I would use my compressor in the I/O cofig. I saw a dbx tube pre' with insert at Guitar Center for $200.
I will be (or at least I think I will be) going from the mic pre into a Delta 66.

dbx 386? That one's received the thumbs up from at least one reliable source on this bbs.

I just picked up a DBX 386 and IMHO it's one of the best "bang for your buck" pieces of tube gear on the market. 235V on the tube, digital out at 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96 kHz out at 16, 20 or 24 bits. VERY nice.

The 386 is more like $480. I don't know anything about the solid state dbx pre's. Presonus makes some good gear for the price, but I haven't heard it firsthand. The Art MP would be another to consider.
