Soldering Party

Greetings,

All the patch bays are mounted.
All the wiring arrived (1200ft of 24-ch TRS Mogami Cable).
Acquired 20lbs of thin silver electronic solder.
Acquired a used adjustable 0-45W Weller professional soldering station and three new tips.
Acquired 200 TT Neutrik solder-type plugs (for patch cables).
Acquired 500 1/4" TRS stereo metal plugs w/strain relief.

Wish me luck soldering. I expect to die of lead fume poisoning within 10-12 hours of starting :rolleyes:

Oh baby! Been there, done that. You'll feel soooo much better when it's all done.
 
Where are you Frederic? If your nearby, I'd be glad to stop by and help :) I have thought of calling a bunch of friends when I get to that point.

Oh, probably a good 3-6 hours from you in "Joisey", right off the Garden State Parkway.

I'm happy to provide all the beer, pizza, and chocolate necessary to achieve my goal.

So far, I'm manged to clip up all the TRS cabling between the top bay and the mixing consoles, and clean up about 10 jacks on the same bay (it had wire wrap tails).

Getting started wasn't easy... I kept getting interrupted by chores, like gutter cleaning, roof flashing repair, repair one of the storm doors, fix the garage opener, etc.

Ugh.
 
I just love to solder. You pay my plane ticket and I'm there in a jiffy. :D

Oh. Make it a boat-ticket... Nobody's safe these days... sigh...

LOL Roel, no kidding on the plane thing. I left work early (NYC) because of the disaster just outside of the city today. This is someone's way of telling me to quit my job and stick with the music for the rest of my life.

<cough, cough, cough>

Considering where you are located, as much I appreciate your generosity, I can afford to send a canoe :) heh-heh.

Pretty funny. In Dutch, thing is 'ding'... So that looked alot like a Dutch joke. Belgian jokes are funnier than dutch jokes. :p

..and I'm building a studio in my cellar so I can miss out on the sunlight on weekends too !! :D

Um, er, SURE!

You can have your own "suite", your own private bath, I'll toss in some apples and such, but there might be a slight paddling responsibility :)

Thanks to daylight savings time, I only see sunlight when I'm outside my office having a cigarette. Other than that, I would be considered a MOLE.

Though, with the two 500W halogen shop lights I setup in my control room (for allowing me to see what I'm soldering) certainly makes it appear like its daylight.

Feel for you frederic :) but ...hey..... it means your nearly there. Hours and hours of soldering.......sheesh you didn't mention the hair dryer and heatshrink. That gives a change. :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
