I am looking for software that I can run my audiobooks through to speed them up. I use mp3 generally on my ipod. Basically I want to speed up the reading without getting a chipmunk effect.

Any suggestions? I would ideally like to just select the file, hit go and have an output file that is the sped up mp3.

Thanks a lot - I have been searching and searching for this.

And this has what to do with Cakewalk programs? ;)

Any audio-editor will be able to do this...

I guess I just wondered whether Cakewalk did it or, if not, if someone could suggest a specific program. I could be wrong, but I have not yet found this on the feature list of programs I have looked at (though maybe its not important enought to list). Anyway, I don't mean to be a pain in the ass, just asking.

Sonar can do that, but I wouldn't spend $300 on a sequenser just for that...

Just pop it into an audioeditor (for example Goldwave, Sound Forge, Wavelab) and run a timestrecher or something...

Vegas Video can speed up the time, but I don't know if it's exportable...
