Soemwhere I saw an ad for software that slows down a CD track without altering the pitch. I was thinking of getting it, but can't find the ad and don't remember the name of the product. Anyone familiar with this?

ACID will do it fer ya. Just record the track into Acid and change the BPM. Actually, I would assume any loop style s/w would work (anything where you can change the BPM/tempo).

The slower you go, the crappier it sounds, but it does work.

this is typically found under audio editing software as "time compress/expand"-what it does is resamples it, cutting however much data out it needs to to change it to the time length you need, rather than changing the pitch. there are often options for the type of algorithym used on this-different ones may sound better at different times. yeah, don't expect it to sound as good as it did.
