Tha' So & So ,So & So
As I am exerimenting with PC Recording I like some suggestions for software instruments. Been dabbling with Cubase and alot of the sounuds are so stiff and cold. I would like something that atleast sounds semi professional. Especially bass and subbasses.

Any Recommendations

I guess while were at it what modules sound good with hip hop?

As far ab bass sounds, I usually make my own :( can't stand the factory sounds.

As far as modules go, I can tell you what I use (which basically sucks) so you don't get the same thing :(

How do you make your own sounds?

I guess knowing what modules not to buy is as important as knowing the good. so what's on your crap list?

Well, I used my voice for one bass sound, I sampled myself humming at different pitches, filtered it, and played it at real low frequencies, it works pretty good, but only for certain beats. Other than that, I sampled my electric bass, or filtered jazz guitar sounds.

The factory sounds that come with the ASR 10 are pretty good, but the Roland Super JX sucks to me, I only use two sounds off the whole thing:(

The Roland U-220 has okay piano sounds, but I usually find myself only using sounds that have strange or interesting qualities and for the most part, only one sound off of it for every other beat I make. :(

That's just my experience.

I like the sounds from the Korg M1 though.

thanx for the response , I know I'm staying away from the superJX

It might be okay for other music, but it sucks for hip-hop :(
