software for writing drum music

I'd like to begin composing drum music on my computer and hear it played from my computer as well.

What tools do I need to do that? I have a Sound Blaster Platinum Live Drive sound card and amplified speakers, but what software do I need to compose and playback drum riffs and compositions?

I dont know of a dedicated program for this however most popular recording programs such as Logic Audio has notation software included. I would go to a music store or online storesites and just search for it. Most major music stores such as Mars would be able to find something for you.
