Have good quality sony laptop
Samson G Track USB Mic with stand and pop filter
Audacity as recording software
Dr. Dre Headphones ( got it from a friend )
Beats ( I download them from youtube mostly instrumentals beats)

Please tell me what other software or equipment is required to sound more professional. What mic should i use, What recording software, etc.

This is how i try to record
1) Open Audacity, drag the beat to it
2) Click record then put the headphones
3) listen the beat through headphones and record on the mic
4) Then mix them and play

Aslo i am having a real hard time trying to figure out how to make the rhyme words sound good when i rap. How to breath without running out of breath.

Youtube beats are going to sound like garbage through anything. I advise using a sequencer from either a device (keyboard / workstation or Sampling device ex. AKAI) or software (ex. reason) and make them yourself.

I presume you will be using a sequencer of some sort to generate the music. If so, the music is going to be sharp and with clarity. You will want your vocal to be the same.

The problem is going to be your usb mic. It will be the weak link. So I would advise getting a good Large Diaphram Condenser mic. They make a range of these to fit your budget.

Next you will need a mic preamp of decent quality. You will also need an interface to convert your analog signal (mic preamp out) to a digital signal to be stored in your computer. They make mic pre interface combo's now that are usb.

There are about a hundred other mentionables to attach to this but that would be too much at this point.

Check out Fruity Loops or Acid. Google free drum loops, free guitar loops, and so on. That should help you out with the music. Once you arrange your music you will need to export it to your recording program. Try some compression on your vocal and practice. You might want a recording program that will let you do punch in recording. Then you can easily fix any problems or pick up where you left off if you mess up.
