Software Drum Tracking???????

I've been told that there are software programs out there that act as soft-drum machines...stand alone prgrams with a graphical interface so you can build your drum tracks 1 line at a time...anyone heard of this? Are they any good? Where can I find them?

as far as standalone apps, I'd have to agree and say FruityLoops is the shiznit
if you use Cubase or any other VST2 compatible app, check this out http://www.samplitools.com/Products/LoopAZoid/loopazoid.html (it's supposed to be free too)
