Does anyone know of a piece of software that would do the job of a direct box. Plugin of standalone it doesnt matter, or if there is anyway to use other plugins to do the job of a di box(say eq and some other stuff)

A direct box changes the impedance or the signal level. That's just a hardware thing. That's like looking for a plugin microphone pre-amp.
