Not sure if this is the right place to post this, so Admin feel free to move if need be:)

Anyways, I really want to get some sort of Software Controller. But not sure if I really need somthing like a Steinberg Houston (Price wise, and might just be to much for my setup). I use Cubase SX (hence the only software controller I know about is the Houston). Its just me and my Bro. We dont do any Midi, just Audio. We have a Delta 44 for the soundcard, DMP3 Pre, Bluemax Comp, Beh Truth Monitors, Rode NTK, NT1, 2 NT3's, KSM32, SN57, and a few other mics. As you can tell, our studio is realativly basic. Actully if I did get a Houston it would be the most expensive thing in our studio, lol (Well other then the guitar, that is a WHOLE other story, PRS, Taylor, Warwick, etc..... :)

I would just LOVE to have some control right at my finger tips for Faders, and what not. So if there are any inexpensive ones out there, and where to buy them at online, please let me know. Thanks in advance:)

Hello,

well, if you don't use MIDI, you could have a look at doepfer's controller, they're small and cheap.
They have 16 assignable knobs, and you can control parameters such pan, volume, sends (very useful)...

hope this helps
bye
Marco.

I use a Fostex VM200 digital mixer. With SX, I can control just about everything with motorized faders to boot! You can find them on ebay in the $300-$400 range. Plus, with it being a mixer, it gives you a lot more flexibility and options than just a stand-alone controller.

I use Nuendo.
Look for a Yamaha O1V on e-bay.
The O1V works like a charm as a controller for Nuendo! I'm sure it would do the same for SX.
You'll also need a midi interface for it. I think the midi sport works well for most.

Hmmm, not a huge fan of buying on Ebay. What about the Tascam US428? Not sure if it works with CubaseSX, but it can controll and also using it as a recording (not sure if I even would).

cubase supports the us428. there's a thread in the cakewalk forum about the 428 and there are quite a few in the tascam forum as well.

the vm200 is discontinued, but you can still find a few places closing them out. let me know if you're interested and i'll find my links.

evolution sounds pretty nice and cheap too. If you'r using a delta 44 it should suite you perfectly because evolution's controllers use USB plugs (delta 44 doesn't have any midi port). event if you don't use midi for the sound part, controllers use midi to communicate with your audio software (I think...)
