soft synth Question... help

I have looked at the many synth plug ins, and finally starting to grasp this midi concept.... for example, i get the GARRITAN orchestra. what software do I use to run it and make tracks. i just want to be able to create a track that I can save as a .wav and then import into a sequence program.

BUT... i usually lay down drum track first. so how will I make sure my synth composition is in time with the tracks i have already recorded on the seq... do I just base it off of the BPM.

i just don't get how i will program a synth track (not in real time) so it goes where it's supposed to in the song

Is there a recording program that runs all of that itself.. like cubase sx ???

any help appreciated.

All DAW software should have a click track so doing everything on time should be straight forward. Plus with midi you can fix any mistakes

With something like Cubase, SONAR, Digital Performer, you can handle all of those things in the same program...
