Soft synth and exporting

Howdy.

Concerning soft synth standalone program, specifically Reason.

In programs like Reason or Project Five that are designed as standalone studios. Once you've recorded what you want to record inside the program, how do you (or can you) export individual tracks or whole mixes or several tracks to other programs. Is it at the end an audio file or what?

For that matter, can Reason be used as a synthesizer (audio not MIDI) to record audio into another recording program?

Just getting into software recording

It depends on the format that reason is using. If its a .wav file then you should be able to import it into most software programs.
Reason can be used as a virtual instrument within many multitrack programs as long as the program supports instruments.
