What's everyone using to quiet their electric guitars down during mixdown? I'm really in need of one for a job. People having been telling me the Behringer SNR2000. BUT, regardless of what I use, I should also use an Aphex or Behringer "enhancer" (obviously in EXTREME cautious and limited fashion) to put the high-end back in as the NR will take a little off the top.

So it seems I'm hearing "Behringer" a lot for this application... What do you guys think? I've never used ANY Behringer product so far...

How 'bout to help reduce hum from an electric guitar track during mixdown? Obviously, the BEST way to deal with ALL this is dealing with the amp or NOT THAT amp itself, but in THIS case, I'M NOT the one who tracked it!

Thanks guys...

I mute, slip edit or steep-ramp-fade all the spots that are noisy with no music, using automation. I might use volume envelopes sometimes too, cause I just like the slow tweakiness of it. A decent gate works well also, especially software with a lookahead function.. anything below a certain level is eliminated.

Oh... I'd avoid ANYTHING thats gonna require additional EQ or "excitement" unless its totally necc. Keep it pure :)
