JBL near field monitors, Alesis amp. Nice transparrent sound.
Transparent? From an Alesis amp?!?!?

Hmmm...... not how I'd describe it!

I know what your saying,

For some reason the combo works. The highs are crispy the mids are clean and the lows are full. I was planning on getting a good amp, but the alesis works and I already had it laying around.

Guess I got lucky.

Studiophile SP-5B, but I'm just learning. They sound good to me and the price was right.

rpe

The SP-5Bs are excellent for near feild mixing and in small rooms at medium to lo volume.

They really suck wind at loud volumes though and break down pretty quick if you get your levels too hot.

I use them all the time however because they are very clean sounding and I prefer to mix at lo volume.

I use Tannoy Reveals for mixing and Aurotone Cubes and/or Optimus Pro77 (Radio Shack) for reference. I normally use Alesis Monitor Ones for tracking (simply cause I have them).

Alesis Monitor-1s, driven by a Samson Servo-120. I HAVE noticed I tend to overdo the bass with these.

I bought some Studiophile 5Bs too, but they're hooked up to the stereo for now. Mrs. Daf didn't want the (larger) M1s in the living room. But I may swap the 5Bs into the studio later if the M1s keep messing me up.

well right now I'm using Genelec 1029's with the 1091 sub...I check on a set of Celestion Model 3's driven(right now) by an old Hafler with an upper end power supply upgrade.Usually I have a class A tube amp on the Celestions but its in the shop. Sometime this summer I'm going to get a pair of Audix N-10's for mid-fields or maybe just find and recondition an old pair of Urie 813's...I want to hear a set of Adams, and a set of the new JBL's...LSR-32's???the one with the 10" woofer...
