I'm also beginning not to like you very much either.

Funny, for some reason, that no longer upsets me.

I'm not well known and I'm just a home recording type guy, I've play in some pretty well known local groups but that's it.

I have no problem with that.

I live in a somewhat bigger pond, so next week, I'll be at the NAMM show in LA (with VIP passes), and hanging out with Randy Nicklaus, Ed Cherney, Mixerman, Al Schmitt, Evanna Manley, John LeGrou, and Tony Merrill, and going to hear one of our groups play the Whiskey (again with VIP passes, since I designed the Whiskey's original PA system), and just in general, hanging out with people that are honest about what they do and who they are. It will be a refreshing change from all the bullshit I've seen here lately, from people who are just looking to stir up shit any way they can.

And whenever Alan, you, or whoever makes a statement that is questionable I WILL ASK QUESTIONS.

But you DON'T do that; you start mean little vicious threads, like "The truth about Studio Projects mic's"
and "How bad is Studio Projects quality control?", and the current Stephan Paul mic thread, where you start out by posting vicious little lies and inuendos, and keep dogging it, long after all your "fake questions" have been answered.

But just to let you know: Name-dropping is a big turn-off for me, and frankly, it makes you look kind of arrogant.

I think it's time you have a look at how you can come accross, sometimes. You can basically say DJL is overzealous and you wouldn't get many arguments. I don't think you have to get in to this whole : "I'm better than you because I hang with Ed Cherney and you don't" crap.

Other than that, I like you Harvey, and I respect you, and I wish you'd post here more often.

Do you really think I give a real shit about an anonymous hate-filled poster on a newsgroup?

I'm 66, and I've been on four major labels, designed the JBL musical instrument speaker line, most of the Acoustic Control amplifiers, hung out with Leo Fender, written a golden oldie that still gets airplay, came up with the concept for the CAD E-200, worked for most of the music industry, and I've got a gold and platinum album hanging on the wall, to name just some of the things I've done in my life.

I've lived about a dozen times more fulfilling life than most people my age. I"ve hung out with Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, Frank Zappa, Mike Bloomfield, Lightning Hopkins, Albert King, and Stephen Paul, to name a few friends who passed away.

So why am I here? To pay back some of the people who helped me when I was starting out, by trying to help people here who are just starting out. I've tried to keep my posts mainly helpful and filled with information that people might find useful, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna keep letting you get away with all the hateful mean shit you post here, over and over.

I don't need to use my forum to get people to come over here to flame you; they're already here, and most of the people here are very aware of your little campaign of hate, and the lies you try to pass off as truth. All anyone has to do to see your real agenda here is simply do a search on threads started by you.

You're nothing but a mean-spirited little person that wants to be seen as big by bringing others down to your level. I won't play that game with you.

Normally, I don't like to name drop, but sometimes you hafta understand where I'm coming from. When I say something, it's based on about 50+ years in this business, working with the legends, who would never do the shit that DJL pulls here on a regular basis.

I know I'm far from perfect, especially when I get into these pissing matches with anonymous people, who take delight in twisting and challenging everything I say. I'm not saying "I'm better", just that I have a larger base of knowledgable friends to get accurate information from.

For me, hanging with these great people is a reality check, so I can realize how little I really do know about all this stuff. I'm sorry if it comes across as condescending. Like you, I don't do this as a hobby - it's been a full time job most of my life - a job I happen to love.

Other than that, I like you Harvey, and I respect you, and I wish you'd post here more often.

I wish people were a little more civil here, and now I've become one of the worst offenders, and that puts me off from doing more posting, other than to defend a dead friend that was attacked, before his body was even cold. I'll try to stick to strictly factual posts in the future.

Two legendary names from rock music -- guitarist Eric Clapton and Kinks founder Ray Davies -- have been named Commanders of the Order of the British Empire, just weeks after Rolling Stone Mick Jagger was knighted at Buckingham Palace. Among other luminaries singled out in the annual New Year's Honors list were World Wide Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, who became a knight (a step above the award given Clapton and Davies).The selection process has been criticized by some in Britain as being tainted by politics, but government officials promised to make changes.
